This is an old revision of the document!
**__WELCOME__** Hello Pilots! Thank you for installing the ATAG realism mod for IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover! This mod is the fruit of many hours of labour by the ATAG modding team, who have worked tirelessly in order to eliminate many of the issues that remained when the original team were dis-banded, and to bring a new lease of life for a title which broke so much new ground with its revolutionary engine, and redefined the benchmark for WWII combat simulations. Our main goal is to create a realistic, unbiased environment where your chosen aircraft will perform as close to their real world counterparts as we can make them within the limitations of the software, giving you a closer simulated experience of the hectic aerial battles fought in the skies over southern England in the summer of 1940. Latest changes include: * Removal of the Altitude Bug. * Flight & Engine Models drastically retuned to reflect real world performance data * Cloud height now extended to 9500m (31,167 feet) * Cloud icing removed. * Textures reworked to improve FPS but maintain visual quality (more to come!) * Addition of a Flowers class corvette. * Supplementary manual covering points excluded from the original. This project is a work in progress, and as such we would be more than happy to hear your feedback on our forums at http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com However please remember that everyone on the modding team has jobs, families, and other real life day to day issues which understandably take higher priority, so any excessive requests for features or additions including PM’s will be treated as spam & ignored. **__ABOUT THE MANUAL__** This manual allows us to update the content relevant to the ATAG mod. At the same time we wanted to include instructions to frequently asked questions that were omitted from the original game manual. Please note that this manual is NOT a replacement for the original manual, as it does not include in-depth instructions of the various options available, so it should be classed as an enhancement that will provide you with additional information & walkthroughs for beginners. The included manuals for the various aircraft types SHOULD be used for realism as these have been created by our Flight Model Engineers & from raw & recorded data collected during extensive testing by our team of test pilots. Of course if you have the real pilots’ notes for a particular aircraft available, by all means feel free to test us and provide us with your feedback! **__USING THE MANUAL__** The manual contains various sub-manuals so pilots can find the content relevant to them. Each part can be accessed by the index.pdf, which provides information on the various topics through a clickable link, or alternatively you can browse through the manuals folder to find the content. Each file has a descriptive name, e.g. BF-109 E4, Spitfire IIA, Online Flying, etc. to allow you to find what you are looking for with ease.
