Thank you for installing the Team Fusion realism mod for IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover! This mod is the fruit of many hours of labour by Team Fusion, who have worked tirelessly in order to eliminate many of the issues that remained when the original team were dis-banded, and to bring a new lease of life for a title which broke so much new ground with its revolutionary engine, and redefined the benchmark for WWII combat simulations. Our main goal is to create a realistic, unbiased environment where your chosen aircraft will perform as close to their real world counterparts as we can make them within the limitations of the software, giving you a closer simulated experience of the hectic aerial battles fought in the skies over southern England in the summer of 1940. This project is a work in progress, and as such we would be more than happy to hear your feedback on our forums at http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com However please remember that everyone on the modding team has jobs, families, and other real life day to day issues which understandably take higher priority, so any excessive requests for features or additions including PM’s will be treated as spam & ignored.
ABOUT THE MANUAL
This manual allows us to update the content relevant to the ATAG mod. At the same time we wanted to include instructions to frequently asked questions that were omitted from the original game manual. Please note that this manual is NOT a replacement for the original manual, as it does not include in-depth instructions of the various options available, so it should be classed as an enhancement that will provide you with additional information & walkthroughs for beginners. The included manuals for the various aircraft types SHOULD be used for realism as these have been created by our Flight Model Engineers & from raw & recorded data collected during extensive testing by our team of test pilots. Of course if you have the real pilots’ notes for a particular aircraft available, by all means feel free to test us and provide us with your feedback!
USING THE MANUAL
The manual contains various sub-manuals so pilots can find the content relevant to them. Each part can be accessed by the index.pdf, which provides information on the various topics through a clickable link, or alternatively you can browse through the manuals folder to find the content. Each file has a descriptive name, e.g. BF-109 E4, Spitfire IIA, Online Flying, etc. to allow you to find what you are looking for with ease.
* The Modded version will create and use a new folder under “my documents” called “il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover - MOD”. This is done to keep any changes separate from the stock version. The first time you start the Mod, you will need to copy your ini files from the “il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover” folder to the “il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover - MOD” in order to keep your game configurations.
* To set the language to russian, edit the “confuser.ini” file under “my documents” and add the following two lines:
GameLanguage=Russian. Removing or setting “GameLanguage” to any other value will use the default language as selected on Steam.
We would like express a heartfelt thank you to all of you who kindly donate to help us maintain our server & forums every month. Without this type of dedication and support we would not be in the position we are now. And to all of our guests, who visit our server and forums, it’s you that make ATAG what we are & we are very proud to be at the heart of the community. Thank you to all the talented community modders, who within hours of hearing about our announcement on various forums, rushed through the doors offering their skills to help keep the simulation alive. Your energy & enthusiasm to make this project a success is incredible! Finally, A big thank you to the original IL-2 Sturmovik development team. Your work over the years has been a legacy, given us hours of fun, and allowed us to have a taste of what it was like to fly classic war-planes. It has also brought together a dedicated & passionate community of aviators & enthusiasts which could get pretty crazy at times but it’s been one hell of a ride! Oleg & Luthier, there is always a place for you guys here, amongst your fellow flight simmers. Hopefully we’ll meet again sometime soon, but until then, all the best with your endeavours and talking about flight simmers…
This one is for you! Enjoy!
